The peptide serum category has grown considerably in recent years, and with that growth has come a lot of noise. There are more formulas and more claims that look similar on the surface but differ significantly in what they actually contain and how they've been put together. Agelixir, our new anti-aging serum for skin, is our answer to what a peptide serum can be when every decision in the formula is made with careful intention. We're going to break down exactly what sets it apart and why those differences matter.
What is Agelixir?
In case you haven’t had a chance to explore Agelixir yet, let us briefly introduce you. Agelixir is an advanced, topical peptide and exosome serum. It's formulated to visibly address multiple dimensions of skin aging at once, from fine lines and loss of firmness to uneven texture, dullness, and dehydration. Thirteen ingredients, each chosen for a specific role, backed by an independent clinical study conducted under dermatologist supervision. You can read the full ingredient breakdown and clinical findings here.
So what makes Agelixir different from other peptide serums on the market? The answer comes back to three principles that have shaped every decision at Scantifix: clean formulation, high-purity ingredients, and a genuine focus on performance. Here’s how that looks in the Agelixir formula.
A Multi-Mechanism Peptide Stack
Most peptide serums are built around one or two peptides, typically focused on either collagen support or expression lines. Agelixir contains eight verified high-purity peptides, targeting multiple aspects of visible skin aging simultaneously. Firmer-looking skin, visibly reduced expression lines, greater resilience, and more radiant skin overall, each addressed by a specific ingredient rather than left to one peptide to handle alone.
The sum is greater than the parts. Many of the peptides work through complementary pathways, and the four neuromodulatory peptides in the formula, SNAP-8, Syn-Ake, Leuphasyl, and Argireline, are a good example. Each one targets expression lines through a slightly different mechanism, and clinical studies show that combining them produces a greater visible reduction in wrinkle depth than any one of them used alone. Ingredient synergy like this is the result of intentional, science-led formulation.
Advanced Anti-Aging Biotech
High-purity, third-party tested peptides thoughtfully chosen to maximize effectiveness are already more than most commercial peptide serums offer. Agelixir doesn't stop there. The formula features PhytoCellTec™, a proprietary exosome platform developed by Swiss biotech company Mibelle Biochemistry, one of the most respected names in advanced cosmetic science.
PhytoCellTec™ uses plant stem cell-derived exosomes to mimic the signals of human stem cells at their most active, with no human or animal material involved at any stage. The visible result is skin that looks firmer, denser, and more youthful over time, with a visible reduction in fine lines and a more defined overall appearance.
It represents the current frontier of anti-aging skincare science and separates Agelixir from a standard peptide serum.
Clean Formulation
Flip over most skincare products and the ingredient list can leave you with more questions than answers. Fillers and fragrance appear where you would expect to find actives, and key ingredients are often buried so far down the list they are present in amounts too small to matter. In peptide serums specifically, poorly chosen compounds can even compromise the stability and potency of the peptides themselves before they reach the skin.
Agelixir was designed around function and performance first and foremost. Every ingredient has a specific role, and nothing is in the formula for appearance or marketing appeal. The peptides are protected, the actives are uncompromised, and the formula is built so that everything in it can do its job without interference.
High-Purity Peptides
Not all peptides are created equal. The purity and concentration of a peptide determines the quality of the entire formula. Too many brands cut corners on both, and it shows in the results.
At Scantifix, ingredient quality is the foundation of everything we make. The peptides in Agelixir are third-party tested before they go into the formula, independently verified for identity, concentration, and quality. What is on the label is genuinely present, at levels that make a difference.
That same standard extends to the finished formula. Agelixir has been independently tested for antimicrobial safety against five of the most common dangerous microorganisms, including E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus, meeting USP 51 antimicrobial preservation standards. Every bottle comes to you stable, pure, and ready to perform.
The Preservation System
Most people never think to ask how a skincare formula is preserved. It's rarely on the label in plain language, and most brands default to synthetic preservatives like parabens or phenoxyethanol. For those with sensitive or reactive skin, certain synthetic preservatives can be a source of irritation or an ingredient they prefer to avoid altogether.
In order to create a clean, widely tolerable formula, we took a different approach. Agelixir uses a 100% plant-based dual preservation system. PhytoCide Aspen Bark Extract is derived from aspen bark and naturally rich in salicylates. PhytoCide Lichen is sourced from one of nature's most resilient organisms. Together they provide broad-spectrum antimicrobial and antifungal protection with no synthetic preservatives required, meeting international safety standards and independently verified.
Synthetic preservatives are the industry default. We looked for an approach that was both effective and kinder to a wider range of skin types.
Clinical Evidence
When a skincare brand makes a claim, it is worth asking what that claim is based on. A lot of commercial peptide serums rely on marketing language, and the evidence behind the product, if it exists at all, is rarely specific to the formula you are actually buying. Independent clinical testing on a finished product is not something every brand invests in. It takes time, resources, and a level of confidence in the formula that not every brand is willing to put to the test.
Agelixir has been put through its own independent clinical study, conducted under dermatologist supervision over twelve weeks with results measured by professional imaging technology. Wrinkle count dropped by an average of 23%, with reductions of up to 48%, a result confirmed as statistically significant.
Participants also reported meaningful improvements across the board, with 90% saying their skin looked more plump and supple and 85% reporting smoother, firmer-looking skin. In patch testing, Agelixir scored an irritation index of 0.00, with no adverse reactions across all participants.
Not many products can point to evidence like that. For the full breakdown of what the study found, you can read it here.
What to Look for in a Peptide Serum
We have covered a lot of ground in this piece. At the heart of it is a philosophy we apply to every product we make at Scantifix: clean, high-quality, evidence-backed, and designed to perform. It is also a useful framework for evaluating any peptide serum you are considering.
Clean. Does every ingredient have a reason to be there? Fragrance, unnecessary fillers, and poorly chosen preservatives can all compromise the actives you are relying on for results.
High-purity peptides. Are the peptides third-party tested for purity and present in effective concentrations? Both matter. A peptide that is low quality or present in negligible amounts will not deliver results.
Evidence-backed. Does the brand have independent clinical evidence specific to their finished formula, or are they relying on marketing claims?
Designed to perform. Does the formula use advanced, biologically aligned technology to address the real complexities of skin aging, or does it only scratch the surface?
Agelixir was built to answer “yes” to all four. If you are ready to try it, shop here.
